Mid-range Outside the gate Ownership unconfirmed

A small eco-friendly tented camp that described itself, in January 2026, as just outside Kimana Gate to the south-east of Amboseli. Its archived site showed superb tents, family tents and deluxe tents, a waterhole in front of the restaurant, campfire sundowners, balloon flights and massage, with an office on Kitisuru Road in Nairobi. On 4 October 2026 its domain no longer resolved, although KWS still links it from the Amboseli park page. That does not prove the camp has closed, but it means nothing current can be checked. Choose it only after the camp confirms by phone that it is open and quotes a rate in writing, and expect to pay daily park fees, since it sits outside the gate.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Small camp just outside Kimana Gate
  • Family tents, according to its archived site
  • Waterhole in front of the restaurant
  • Still listed by KWS among the park's private lodges

Cons

  • Website offline on 4 October 2026; operating status unknown
  • No rate available
  • Owner not named, even on the archived site
  • We found no published child policy

What the park charges on top

The rate above buys you a bed. Amboseli National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Park entryThe non-resident rate, per entry of up to 24 hours, flat all year since 1 October 2025.
$90per person, per day
VehicleKSh 600 a day for a car under six seats, about $4.60 at KSh 129.45 to the dollar.
$5per vehicle, per day

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $555 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.

Leaving the park and driving back in buys a new ticket, so a lodge outside the gate can mean more fee days than nights.

Rates at Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp

Rates on request. No rate available: the camp's website did not resolve on 4 October 2026, and no rates appear in the last archived copy, from January 2026. Confirm the camp is operating before you send money. If it is, the KWS conservation fee of $90 per non-resident adult per day (October 2025 card) applies on park days.

What the rate covers is not confirmed. We do not know yet whether meals, drinks and activities are included, so read this as the bed only.

Every figure on this page is in US dollars.

Rates checked on 4 October 2026 from each property's own website or rate card and from KWS's October 2025 conservation-fee card and 2025 Mbugani Homes rate card. Angama's 2026 rate comes from an archived copy of its rate page (captured August 2025), because the live site blocks automated reading. None of the figures is a reseller or agent rate; where a property publishes nothing, the entry says Rates on request, and the Budget, Mid-range or Top-end label then follows the style the property describes rather than a price. Booking.com was not checked for any property. Watch the basis: most camps quote per person sharing, the KWS units per unit and Kibo Villa per villa, and the KWS conservation fee of $90 per non-resident adult per day (October 2025 card) is extra almost everywhere, plus conservancy fees at the conservancy camps.

Questions about Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp

Is Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp still open?

We could not confirm it. tuliacamp.com did not resolve on 4 October 2026, and the last archived copy of the site dates from January 2026, although KWS still links the domain from its Amboseli page. The archived site gave +254 712 646464 for bookings; call before you plan around the camp.

Where is Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp?

Its archived site described it as 'just outside of Kimana Gate to the southeast of Amboseli National Park', so it is outside the park and you pay the KWS conservation fee, $90 per non-resident adult per day under the October 2025 card, each day you drive in.

Is Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp good for families?

The archived site listed superb family tents, but we found no child policy, and with the site offline there is nothing current to check.
