Elewana Tortilis Camp
Tented camp · Kitirua Conservancy, on the park's western edge · Elewana Collection
Elewana's camp on the western edge of Amboseli, in the 30,000-acre Kitirua Conservancy, a wildlife corridor towards Tanzania that Elewana leases from Maasai landowners. It is outside the park, just beyond the boundary, and its position on the west side is unusual: most lodges, as Elewana itself points out, are outside the eastern gate. Guests drive in the park and on the conservancy, where the camp promises exclusivity, and walk with Maasai guides. The camp runs on solar power and uses open vehicles. Rates start at $317 per person full board in April and May 2026 and reach $715 from July to October, with park and conservancy fees on top. Choose it for the quieter west side.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Amboseli National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.
- Park entryThe non-resident rate, per entry of up to 24 hours, flat all year since 1 October 2025.
- $90per person, per day
- VehicleKSh 600 a day for a car under six seats, about $4.60 at KSh 129.45 to the dollar.
- $5per vehicle, per day
Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $555 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.
Leaving the park and driving back in buys a new ticket, so a lodge outside the gate can mean more fee days than nights.
The full fee schedule for Amboseli National ParkRates at Elewana Tortilis Camp
From $317 pppn. 2026 rates per person per night sharing, full board: $317 green season (1 April to 31 May), $491 mid (4 January to 31 March, June, 1 November to 19 December), $715 high (1 July to 31 October, 20 December to 3 January). Full board covers meals, soft drinks, beer, house wine, selected spirits and laundry; on that basis shared game drives cost $220 per person. The game package, which adds scheduled shared drives, activities and transfers from a designated airstrip, is $517, $691 and $915. Park, conservancy and camping fees are excluded: add the KWS conservation fee of $90 per non-resident adult per day (October 2025 card) and the Kitirua conservancy fee, for which Elewana publishes no current figure.
It depends which package you book. This camp sells more than one basis, from self-catering up to fully inclusive. The rates note says what each one covers.
Every figure on this page is in US dollars.
Rates checked on 4 October 2026 from each property's own website or rate card and from KWS's October 2025 conservation-fee card and 2025 Mbugani Homes rate card. Angama's 2026 rate comes from an archived copy of its rate page (captured August 2025), because the live site blocks automated reading. None of the figures is a reseller or agent rate; where a property publishes nothing, the entry says Rates on request, and the Budget, Mid-range or Top-end label then follows the style the property describes rather than a price. Booking.com was not checked for any property. Watch the basis: most camps quote per person sharing, the KWS units per unit and Kibo Villa per villa, and the KWS conservation fee of $90 per non-resident adult per day (October 2025 card) is extra almost everywhere, plus conservancy fees at the conservancy camps.
Questions about Elewana Tortilis Camp
Is Tortilis Camp inside Amboseli National Park?
No. Elewana places it in a private conservancy bordering the park, on Amboseli's western edge, and its own published coordinates test just outside the boundary. Guests drive both in the park and on the 30,000-acre Kitirua Conservancy.
Is Tortilis Camp good for families?
Elewana says all tents can take one extra bed for a child under 16, and lists a Family Tent for four and a Private House for five, sharing a pool, with a children's menu, bush walks and Maasai jewellery making. We found no published discount ages for children.
What does the Tortilis rate include?
Full board covers all meals, soft drinks, beer, house wine, selected spirits and laundry; game drives then cost $220 per person, walks $90 or $115, a Maasai cultural visit $85 and airstrip transfers $120 per vehicle. The game package adds shared drives, activities and transfers. Park, reserve, conservancy and camping fees are excluded.
